A DAY WITH COY CDR

A Coy Cdr in RR forces has an action packed day, which generally breaks at mid night and lasts till mid night. But in his busy schedule whenever he finds an opportunity to interact with cheerful, zealous and enthusiastic children of his AOR, he feels rejuvenated and elated. It reminds me of a famous quote by Paulo Coelho:-

A child can teach an adult three things…To be happy for no reason. To always be busy with something. And to know how to demand with all his might that which he desires.

When COB Coy Cdr has the pleasure of the company of children in his camp, it gives him a break from his dynamic routine. The children too enjoy the pleasure of the company of men in combat. When the children saw the flight of quadcopter for the first time, they felt as if their dreams got wings. Many children were seen adjusting their hair in the real time feed of quadcopter and the twinkle in their eyes spoke volumes about their dreams.

They were then shown various sights (day and night) of weapons. They looked through various sights and were amazed by the way they work, the excitement could easily be seen in their eyes.  Through the lens of sights, they saw themselves as doctors, engineers, army officers and what not. They held each sight with great care and charm but inside their hearts they were painting the canvas of their lives through them. Seeing in the dark room through the night sight gave them immense joy. They felt like they have found the Mr India of thyself. This sight symbolizes the light in the darkness.

In order to bring out the artist in the students a painting competition was conducted and students were given the freedom to paint whatever they liked. To everyone’s surprise children drew most amazing drawings and with the beautiful usage of colours they showcased their talent. Children were given gifts to motivate them.

At the end of all the events planned for the day Coy Cdr interacted with the children over tea and snacks. He asked them how they liked their visit in the camp. Children were more than eager to share their experiences with Coy Cdr. He also asked them what they wanted to be when they grow up and gave them direction too. He told the students that they are more than welcomed in the camp whenever they need any kind of help or any guidance. Children left the camp with ear to ear smile and new hopes.
