CRYSTAL OF ENDLESS TIME

When the snow crystals shine tomorrow

Glowing in the vibrant surrounding

He said to remember him in them

The moments of his being around me.

That concrete wall he slept close to

The shoes he often left untied

His well kept sleeping bag next to it

And his rifle always clinched to his side.

Those chilly morning blues

And those thumping boot noise

No shiver in that body I guess

But jokes in his quiver all times.

That’s him as we remember

Till the last moment yes we would

He came with an open heart

And left us with memories as much he could.

The winds are silent since

Mourning for the friend once we had

It knows this vacuum can’t be filled

Yet for him we continue to stand.

Tomorrow when the sun is up

And the crystals shine

You will glow amongst us like before

Till that moment of endless time.
