INSANIYAT, JAMHURIYAT, KASHMIRIYAT

Throughout history, phenomenal social changes have always been effectuated through vision and the need for change. Whether it is the ushering of peace through the Magna Carta or integration of Europe, history has witnessed important foundational principles for the common prosperity and development of man with its basis in humanism and peace.

The term ‘Insaniyat, Jamhuriyat, Kashmiriyat’ was coined by the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and it all encompasses the fundamentals on the basis of which to approach the crisis in Kashmir and usher in a dawn. As a point of principle, it was widely lauded by the whole spectrum of society, including the separatists in the Valley. However, vested external influences by vile proxies and their incessant campaign for bleeding the Union of India had left this doctrine in the lurch. However, the relevance of this doctrine is evermore and it is the responsibility of current and future dispositions to relieve Kashmir from the clutches of chaos and deliver everlasting peace in a region stuck in incessant bloodshed.

History.

Throughout the post-independence history of Kashmir, its roots in democracy and its assimilation with the ideals laid down in the Constitution of India, has been beleaguered by the stranglehold of the power centers by prominent political families since its very nascent beginning, and hence the subsequent insurgency over the last three decades have only resulted in the domination of power and money by a political class and its surrounding ecosystems, funded and supported by external and manipulated agencies and proxies. It is under such circumstances that in order to establish normalcy, the former Prime Minister had Atal Bihari Vajpayee – ‘Insaniyat, Jamhuriyat, Kashmiriyat’ is the foundation for peace in Kashmir. Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee whose birthday on ‘25 December’ is celebrated as ‘Good Governance Day’, has been lauded for his policies on Kashmir since he became the prime minister of India for the first time in 1996.propounded the doctrine for comprehensive engagement of the people and wean them away from these virile elements.

Objective Analysis.

The principles of ‘Insaniyat, Jamhuriyat, Kashmiriyat’ effectively bases itself on humanism and people’s representation integrated with the age old legacy of the composite culture prevalent in Kashmir. It is a truly profound approach which emphasizes on the most fundamental values for effective integration and peaceful functioning of society in harmony with the ideals laid down in the Constitution.

The state and non-state proxies of our western neighbor with its nefarious intent has consistently tried to erode this characteristic approach towards peace and normalcy in Kashmir. Their primary instrument of discord and violence bases itself on radical extremism, stagnancy and ignorance and these values are in direct conflict with the aspects of humanity and people’s representation for development and progress.

This has been evident in the virulent campaign by some such elements in their tireless intent to keep the pot boiling in Kashmir through their persistent attacks on any actions of development and progress. These rabid elements thrive in chaos and their tools include strikes, lockdown of educational institutions, terror attacks and complete paralysis of civic society and constructive narratives.

This aspect has come to the fore in recent years, with insurgency effectively quelled and these disruptive forces losing their resonance among the tired and hopeful masses. Murders of common Kashmiris are on the rise and the effective push for insurgency is based on holding the common Kashmiri at gunpoint. This is a singular testament to the fallacy of their ideological claims.

The dangerous tilt of society towards extremism with underlying radicalization of the youth is a direct result of the continued efforts of Pakistan and its agencies to keep the Kashmiri society from completely embracing positive changes and galloping along the path of progress. These elements are so hateful, they are ready to serve young impressionable youth for slaughter rather than allow peace. And it is this vile agenda which needs to be dealt with urgency.

Inference.

The virulent campaign of ‘Us and Them’ is a dangerous and motivated alien agenda against the history of the land, as Kashmir has always been an inclusive and open society, a land of Peers and Saints. The possibility of prosperity and peace lies in the empowerment of the common Kashmiri, the representation of the people and in the establishment of a well oiled democratic machinery based on the values of humanism and fundamental rights.

The abrogation of Article 370 is supposedly a pertinent step towards dismantling of the terror nexus and its affiliates within the civil governance. The long rusting and dust covered corridors of governance stand invigorated with greater synergy amongst progressive elements which would effectuate lasting changes and bring about development and hope to the common man, creating the basis for peace and normalcy in Kashmir.11. With the possibility of their misdeeds coming to the fore and loss of their stranglehold over power and public money in Kashmir, the inimical elements and their nexus have no qualms about joining hands with the Devil in their desperate hope to stay relevant. This was highly relevant in the recent Panchayat elections in Kashmir as the power had shifted to the common, disenfranchised Kashmiri from the ivory towers of the erstwhile power centers.

Conclusion.

In the backdrop of multiplicity of prolonged mayhem & crisis, the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir has been the focal point for macro planning of development & ushering peace. Post Independence the state always had the chief ministers at helm of affairs from the Kashmir valley and mostly were on board the ruling disposition in the center, thus ensuring continued preferential treatment. Despite that the state of affairs in terms of poor governance, under development and failure to maintain peace, can be solely attributed to the failure of the people in Ivory towers of the state. With the change in approach post August 2019, the optimism and audacity of hope prevails amongst the echelons of the citizens in the state.

However, even today the wise words of the wise man ring true as the inherent Kashmiriyat is bound to bloom and triumph against the vile and the evil. It shall sweep against this tide and usher in a new dawn for the Jamhuriyat, a path for peace and prosperity, providing the world a beacon for Insaniyat.
