MALANGAM ZIARAT
Also known as Baba Sakidha Bad, ‘Naga Bazi Saab’ was a devout follower of Saint Mohd Azim Chisti of Muzzafarabad. During World War lI, he moved from Swat valley to Avra in Pahalgam for two years and thereafter went for meditation to the higher reaches. Finally, he came to Malangam where he resided till his death in January 1956. Three years prior to his death, he told his sons to identify a place for his Ziarat in Malangam, as the Saint had foreseen his end. Soon after his demise, his eldest son Syed Zamin Shah took over the reins at the tender age of nine years and spread the message of Sufism amongst the local populace (Gujar community mainly). After his demise on 12 Oct2008, his eldest son Syed Walayat Shah took over the ‘SajadaNishan or the holy seat.
Every year, from 4thto 10th of Aug the annual Urs is celebrated when a huge fair is organised at the Ziarat. The turnover of Gujjar devotees touches almost 3-4 lakhs. The Shrine is very famous among the childless.
