SHANKAR GOURISHWAR TEMPLE

This temple is also known as Pandav Laarie (Pandava’s abode). The temples, themselves are known as Sugandesh and Shankar Gaurishwar Both the temples had outer stone walls and a central Shiva temple.The temples were laid by King Shankaravarman who succeeded his father King Avantiverman and reigned from 883 to 901 AD. The area used to be called Pattana and later came to be known as Shankarapura . The Sugandesha temple was built by Sugandha and is situated less than 1 km away from Gaurishwar temple
