SHRINE OF MIR BABA HAIDER
The Shine is situated at Tulmul Ganderbal, 22 kms from Srinagar. In its west there is a famous Hindu religious centreKheer Bhavani. Mir Saheb is also known as Mir Haider Gujrati. It is said that his ancestors were basically from Gujrat. Hewas a disciple of Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom. He has written a book, Hidayat-ul-Mukhlisin,On the spiritual powers andmiracles of his teacher and guide Sheikh Hamza Makhdoom. The Shrine is in Rishistyle and its area is bordered in aboundary wall. It is surrounded by a grave yard. In its West is a double storied mosque. Out of the walls there is an entrygate for the Shrine. The Shrine has two and a half feet high plinth with brick work in lime surkhi. The Shrine of Mir Baba Haider is 650 years old and famous amongst the locals for its ability to grant peace. The Shrine hasbeen reconstructed with extension in 1935 by the Shrine committee. lt is said that the Ziarat solves the problems of anyone who comes here with an honest and noble heart. It is also said that the ziarat blesses the childless with children. Mir Saheb passed away on7thMuharram 997 Hijri(1588). Every year in the month of August the Ursof the Saint is celebrated attracting a large number of devotees.
