Following are the excerpts from a Polygraph Test of a politician in Kashmir :-
Q – Why are there so many security personnel in Kashmir?
A – Because of terrorist threat….. and for security of people.
Q – Why are these terrorists in Kashmir?
A – Because of Pakistan sponsored proxy war here since the eighties.
Q – Why did Pakistan start a proxy war here?
A – To merge Kashmir into Pakistan.
Q – Do you want Kashmir to merge with Pakistan?
A – Hell No.
Q – Why not?
A – Pakistan is a failed country….bankrupt…begging for alms….epicenter of terrorism. Their own Muslim countrymen are not safe….they kill Ahmedias, Hazaras, Balochis, Christians…..they carryout forceful religious conversions. They do not have any love for Kashmiris…….they just want the water of our rivers. They have ruined their side of Kashmir….
Q – So….what do you want?
A – Azaadi.
Q – What do you mean by that?
A – Kashmir should become a different country.
Q – Do you mean the complete old Kingdom of Jammu and Kashmir including Ladakh ?
A – May be.
Q – Do you think it is possible?
A – No.
Q – Do you think that only the Valley of Kashmir measuring about 134 by 32 Kilometers can ever become an independent country?
A – No.
Q – Then why do you keep harping on it?
A – For political survival and favours from our mentors across.
Q – How has the security situation improved in the Valley ?
A – Security forces have been able to control the spread of terrorism.
Q – When all restrictions were removed by the Government in 2018, who enforced the lock down?
A – Terrorists.
Q – What was the way in which they enforced lockdown?
A – They pasted large number of intimidating and threatening posters across Kashmir. Muslim policemen were threatened to resign from jobs and coaxed to organise a ‘rebellion’. Shopkeepers, truck drivers and private transporters were threatened to observe complete shutdown or face dire consequences. Terrorists threatened that fuel pumps selling fuel will be set ablaze. Auto rickshaw drivers who had dared to ply on roads were threatened ‘by name’. They threatened teachers and students with death if they went to school. They warned government employees and bank officials not to go to offices. Apple growers were ordered not to visit their orchards, or face death. Mosques were told to play jihadi songs and incite people to create disturbances. To enforce these threats, they killed many policemen, politicians, truck drivers, minority community people, migrant laborers etc. Terrorists threw grenades at many places including schools with impunity, killing and maiming scores of innocent civilians. They also forced people to generate false human rights cases against security forces and question lawful and genuine anti-terrorist operations by them.
Q – What other diktats are given by the terrorists?
A – Girls not to wear western clothes or visit beauty parlours…or go to dance and singing shows. They threatend boys from attending organized sports events. They got all cinema halls of Srinagar closed by intimidation and grenade blasts. They want people to shun political and social activities. Basically, they are against anything that makes people happy.
Q – What atrocities are committed by foreign terrorists?
A – Killing innocents…dishonoring women….intimidation…money laundering….extortion.
Q – Why doesn’t local media report on terrorist activities?
A – Because of Fear.
Q – Terrorists’ atrocities and threats are even not covered by international media…why..?
A – Perhaps, reporting against Governments instead of terrorists gives them a feeling of being upright and fair…….and then there are incentives of awards, promotions and TRPs. Also, those who report on Kashmir are staying miles away from here…. they go for sensational and speculative reporting. Overall, it is poor, biased and unprofessional reporting.
Q – What do you think about reporting by international media post abrogation of Article 370 ?
A – It was mostly wrong… they reported that hundreds had been killed in protests whereas not a single person died. It was mostly on behest of a frustrated Pakistan trying to sensationalize things.
Q – What do you think about main stream leaders, separatists and fundamentalists?
A – They all have an axe to grind. The dynastic politicians have sucked the exchequer dry….the separatists and fundamentalists have rocked the boat of ‘allusive azaadi’ to get favours from across.
Q – Who was responsible for exodus of Pandits?
A – Many were involved actively and but most of us were complicit. Actually, the conspiracy was hatched long back with help from across the borders and many of us were happy to cooperate….many wanted to grab their property.
Q – What would be your message for people?
A – Thirty years of gun culture has not given us anything…..let us now adopt the path of peace and development….have courage to stand up to threats ……let us ‘MOVE ON.’
