ATUL PANGOTRA- INTERNATIONAL PLAYER FROM J&K INVITED FROM WORLD TAEKWONDO FOR TOKYO PARALYMPICS

Atul Pangotra, International Player, coach, and referee, who is part of the World Taekwondo and Referee Committee of India Taekwondo, has been invited by World Taekwondo for the European qualifications as referee for the upcoming Tokyo Paralympics.

Atul Pangotra received his selection letter from the governing body of Taekwondo in the World for qualification scheduled to be held at Sofia, Bulgaria on May 9. 2021. The said qualification is the final selection phase for all the athletes and officials who aspire to represent their respective Nations at the Paralympic Games 2021.

Last year, Atul qualified among the top 50 officials for the 2020 Paralympics and also represented India in the first two phases of Tokyo 2021 Paralympics Referee seminars held internationally. A staffer with the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Atul Pangotra currently deputed with J&K Sports Council (JKSC) as a Taekwondo coach at Srinagar.

Meanwhile, the senior vice president of India Taekwondo (IT), Dr. SM Bali congratulated Atul Pangotra for his selection and made a request to the Government of J&K for allowing him and providing financial assistance for this qualification tour.
