Zahid Amin Wani : TALE OF ASPIRATION & PASSION OF KASHMIRI YOUTH
The Mughal Emperor Jehangir (1569-1627) called the Kashmir Valley a “Paradise of Earth”. The vale of Kashmir is a valley between the karakoram and the Pir Panjal Range. It was found by draining of the huge karewa lake during a period of tectonic uplift. The valley is defined by presence of rivers, lakes and wild flowers besides picturesque landscape.
As part of state policy, the valley has been targeted using terrorists trained, equipped and sponsored by the Pakistan and aided by some pockets of excellence supporting ill designs of adversary. On account of South Kashmir being strong hold of PDP and Jamaitees, local youths have been targeted for fomenting trouble in the region.
In the midst of violence and ever increasing turmoil perpetrated by separatists and Pakistan sponsored terrorists in the Kashmir valley, youth in their prime age have been the cynosure. They were specially targeted in order to provoke them in joining militancy so as to create disturbance in lives of Kashmiris. But there have been few youth who stood their ground and led by personal example, even after all threats they decided to join the Indian Armed Forces and serve the motherland.
Such like youth include Zahid Amin Wani who belongs to Anzawal, Anantnag. He is humble individual born into a family of farmers. Living along with his three sisters and a brother, he took upon the responsibilities of his family on his shoulders at an early stage of life. Soon after passing 12th from Govt Higher Secondary School, Kadipora (Anantnag) Zahid enrolled himself for Indian Army porter at Anantnag High Ground in 2013.
He has been extremely passionate and hence he attended the recruitment rallies in the year 2014, 2015 and 2016 at a stretch although not being able to clear the written exam all three times. thereon started to train Zahid for the recruitment rally for TA soldiers for the year 2019. Zahid showed utmost determination during his preparation, hence clearing all his tests including the written exam which he was lacking before. However, the individual could not make it into the final merit list in 2019.
When asked about the same, Zahid answered that it is his passion to join the Armed forces. He said that he will work hard for the next recruitment rally and join the Indian Army. He also thanked the Army for guidance and support all through his struggle. He stands as an inspiration to the youth of Kashmir Valley to join the mainstream and look for better future. Zahid is one such example wherein the youth who took courageous step for better life of himself and his family. The indl has been working extremely hard with utmost positive attitude to support his poor family and nurture his siblings.
